THE STUDY
We developed and used a much improved version of a local correlation tracking code to measure the meridional flow and differential rotation (as well as torsional oscillation, its temporal residual) on the solar surface. Tracking was performed on line-of-sight magnetograms available from MDI onboard the SOHO spacecraft as well as HMI onboard SDO. The measurements span May 4, 1996 to June 27, 2020 in time, available as averages over a Carrington Rotation. We used displacements of supergranular patterns calculated at different time-lags between successive magnetograms to correct for the center-to-limb effect.
